Who was Al Mustaqbal created forThe school was established to provide UK parents an opportunity to have their children taught in the same manner as Arab countries teach their kids. As someone who grew up in the UK, I learned to read Arabic and then focused on Tajweed during adulthood. However, after investing years into perfecting my Pronunciation (Makhraaj), I realized that understanding Fusha Arabic should have been my priority. It would have allowed me to complete more Hifz of the Quran and made it easier for me to understand the words in my prayers and the Surahs I recite. It would have also helped me to connect with the words of Allah in real-time, without the need for a dictionary. So, we set up this school to help UK parents offer their children the gift of Arabic language.

What is Fusha Arabic?Fusha Arabic is the purest form of Arabic and serves as the original language in which the Quran was written. This language is known for its eloquence, poetry, and impeccable grammar. If you've studied it, you'll know that it's truly remarkable. At Al-Mustaqbal, we focus on teaching Foundation to Level 6 in Fusha Quranic Arabic Only. It's important to understand that colloquial or regional dialects spoken in Arab countries have altered Fusha over time by incorporating regional nuances and simplifying the language for the masses. While we can appreciate the reasons behind this, Al-Mustaqbal does not teach any colloquial or regional dialects. Our focus as British Muslims should be solely on Fusha Arabic, as it is the most important and relevant form of the language. Interestingly, all Arab children are taught Fusha Arabic in all masjid's, nurseries and schools. They go through a similar curriculum to the one we offer at Al-Mustaqbal during their early years. It's only when they grow up and are exposed to regional dialects that they start to pick them up. This is further evidenced by the fact that all news and cartoons from the Arab world are dubbed in Fusha Arabic. Yes, you heard that right – all news and cartoons! Fusha is the language of the Quran, Politics, Infrastructure, Media, Law, and Education (from Nursery to University).

Our aim is for your child to be a Native Arabic speaker.

You'd like Arabic to be your child's second languageOur curriculum starts at Foundation and goes all the way up to level 6. We start with an intensive Foundation level, this bridges the gap and allows for children to start learning the language. Our focus here is to Read, Write and Repeat. We've found that the difference in Foundation to level 1 is challenging for non-Arabic students, as they haven't grown accustomed to the language in their early years, so our curriculum looks to address this early and build on it. We follow the same curriculum as a native Arab speaker in an Arabic-speaking country and expect for your child to be at the native Arabic-speaking level of 10 to 11 years towards the end of Al Mustaqbal.
